Rising Above the Flames ~ Hawaiian Style Luau
The Anna Maria Island community comes together in support of the Brady family's iconic West Coast Surf Shop at the Center. The West Coast Surf Shop, established in 1964, is considered the oldest surf shop in Florida. It was extensively damaged on April 15, 2018 in an electrical shortage fire. The event was an outpouring of love. There was a silent auction with donated items including West Coast Surf Shop memorabilia, skateboards, local art, bicycles, and more. Event T shirts were for sale. Food and drinks were from Duffy's Tavern and the Chiles Group. Entertainment was provided by Trevor Bystrom, Chuck Caudill, and Kettle of Fish. Bob Slicker of the Swordfish Grill was the emcee/auctioneer. It was amazing to see so many caring people come together to support the Brady family. It takes an island! Feel free to download any photos you like. If you use them in any public way, please give me photo credit. If you purchase any prints, all proceeds will go to the West Coast Surf Shop. ~ Dara
